About This Quote

The main thing is to keep THE MAIN THING the main thing In the beginning of the book The Little Prince, a young boy asks a rose if it would be possible for them to have a conversation. He then asks her what she thinks of him and she responds by saying that he was a boy of great heart. He then asks her what he thinks of her and she replies that she is a rose with a thorn in her side. When the boy asks again if it would be possible for them to have a conversation, the rose says that they will have plenty of time to talk later.

He asks her what this means and the rose replies with “The main thing is to keep THE MAIN THING the main thing”. This quote means that there is always more important things in life than any other thing, but that we must always try to focus on what really matters most in life, rather than wasting our time on unnecessary things.
